Policies & terms

The fine print,
kept plain.

Nilüfer is a small, independent floral studio. These terms protect the work I make and set clear, fair expectations for everyone who orders. They're written in plain language on purpose — please read them before you place an order.

Terms of service

By browsing this website or placing an order with Nilüfer (“the studio”, “I”, “me”), you (“you”, “the customer”) agree to the terms set out on this page. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site or place an order. I may update these terms from time to time; the version posted here, with the date above, is the one that applies to your order.

This site and studio are operated from San Francisco, California, United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Nothing here is intended to limit any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Orders & payment

Every piece is made to order. When you place an order you're commissioning a one-of-a-kind floral piece, built by hand around the feeling you've chosen.

  • Prices are listed in US dollars and may change at any time, but the price I confirm when I accept your order is the price you pay.
  • Placing an order is an offer to buy; your order is confirmed once I accept it and payment is received. I may decline or cancel an order — for example if a piece can't be sourced or fulfilled — and will refund you in full if I do.
  • Because each piece is seasonal and hand-built, flowers, tones and materials may vary slightly from the photographs on the site. The photographs are representative, not a guarantee of identical stems.
  • You're responsible for giving accurate delivery details and recipient information when you place your order.

iii.

Delivery

Pieces are hand-delivered within San Francisco. Delivery is free on orders over $120; otherwise a flat delivery fee is confirmed when you order. I'll arrange a delivery window with you or the recipient after your order is confirmed.

  • If no one is available to receive the piece, I may leave it in a safe place at the address or arrange re-delivery; I can't be responsible for a piece once it has been delivered as instructed.
  • Delivery dates are made in good faith but aren't guaranteed against events outside my control (weather, traffic, supplier delays). I'll always tell you as early as I can if something needs to move.

iv.

Cancellations & refunds

Flowers are perishable and every piece is made specifically for you, so timing matters.

  • Cancellations: you can cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours before your scheduled delivery date. After that, I've usually bought your stems and begun the work, so cancellations within 48 hours aren't refundable.
  • If something's wrong: if a piece arrives damaged or not as described, please send me a photo within 24 hours of delivery and I'll make it right — a remake or a refund, my choice in consultation with you.
  • Natural variation in colour, shape and stem choice is part of handmade, seasonal work and isn't considered a fault.
In short

Made-to-order and perishable means I can't offer returns once a piece is on its way — but if I've gotten something wrong, I'll always look after you.

v.

Copyright & intellectual property

Everything on this website — the floral designs, the named pieces and their stories, the written words, photographs, illustrations, the Nilüfer name and mark, and the layout and design of the site itself — is the original work of Nilüfer Studio and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights. © 2026 Nilüfer Studio. All rights reserved.

What you may not do

  • Copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute any text, photograph or design from this site without my written permission.
  • Use the studio's images, descriptions or piece names to sell, promote or pass off floral work as your own or another studio's.
  • Use the Nilüfer name, mark or branding in any way that suggests affiliation or endorsement without permission.
  • Use any content from this site to train machine-learning or AI systems, or scrape it by automated means, without my written consent.

What you may do

You're welcome to share links to the site and to post photos of a piece you've received, with credit to @nilufer.studio. If you'd like to feature the work — press, collaboration, anything else — just ask me. I say yes to lovely things.

vi.

Privacy

I collect only what I need to make and deliver your order and to stay in touch if you've asked me to.

What I collect

  • Order details you give me: your name, contact details, delivery address, recipient information and any gift note.
  • Your email address, if you join the studio's list.
  • Payment is handled by a secure third-party payment processor — I never see or store your full card details.

How I use it

  • To prepare, deliver and follow up on your order.
  • To send occasional notes about new pieces, only if you've joined the list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. I share it only with the services I need to fulfil your order (such as my payment processor), and only as needed.

You can ask me at any time to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you — just email hello@nilufer.studio.

vii.

Care & liability

Fresh flowers are natural, perishable and, in some cases, mildly toxic if eaten. Please keep pieces away from children and pets, and treat them as decorative only. Care guidance comes with every piece.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nilüfer Studio's liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for allergic reactions or damage arising from the natural properties of the flowers. This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

A question about any of this?

I'd rather you ask than wonder. Write to me and I'll answer like a person, not a policy.
